The CMD License is prepared by Capital Market Denmark and is mandatory for covered employees of members of Capital Market Denmark. The CMD License will enter into force on September 1, 2023. Members have until the end of 2024 to have relevant employees certified.
Employees employed in the following functions are covered:
- Research
- Trading
- Sales
- Corporate Finance
- Compliance
Following an individual assessment, members can exempt employees from the certification requirement.
The CMD License consists of a basic module including a test. There are two annual courses of two days duration with physical participation. As an alternative to the physical courses, an employee can also choose self-study. It is agreed in each member organisation whether an employee must attend the physical course or take the self-study. The test is a multiple choice test with100 questions. The test is passed with a minimum of 70% correct answers.
To retain the certification, the employee must complete the mandatory annual update modules.
