At the end of 2016, the Association of Danish Mortgage Banks, the Danish Mortgage Banks’ Federation and the Danish Bankers Association agreed that banks and mortgage institutions’ interests would be best represented by one joint organisation.
Therefore, the three associations agreed to merge under the name Finance Denmark, with the Association of Danish Mortgage Banks renamed the department of mortgage credit and property financing under Finance Denmark.
The Danish Mortgage Banks’ Federation was therefore dissolved in December 2016.
In 2017 the Danish Investment Fund Association and Finance Denmark decided to join forces. For this purpose the Danish Investment Fund Association changed its name to the Danish Investment Association.
In 2017 the Danish Stock Brokers' Association also became a part of Finance Denmark, later to be renamed Capital Market Denmark.
In 2024 Finance Denmark became an employers' organization when the activities of the Finance Sector Employers' Association were taken over.
In 2025 the Association of Danish Mortgage Banks was fully integrated into Finance Denmark with the mortgage institutions becoming members of Finance Denmark. The Danish Investment Association and Capital Market Denmark was also fully integrated into Finance Denmark during 2025.
