The members of the Danish Investment Association offer investment funds and asset management services to retail and institutional investors.
Investment funds and asset management are the tie between retail investors' savings, institutional investors' investment needs, and public- and private-sector funding requirements. The industry thereby promotes a society rich in opportunities.
The Danish Investment Association aims to optimise conditions enabling the industry to offer investment funds and asset management services facilitating easy access for retail and institutional investors to Danish and foreign investments. We promote:
- optimal conditions for investment funds and asset managers
- an equal playing field in the competition for investors' savings both in Denmark and abroad
- accessible, relevant and readily comparable information to investors
- awareness of investment funds and asset management and their value to investors and society.
The members of the Danish Investment Association influence, engage in and are informed about all matters of relevance to providers of investment funds and asset management services. The members of the Danish Investment Association also elect their own Board of Directors charged with safeguarding the interests of investment funds and asset managers in close liaison with Finance Denmark for the purpose of influencing all matters of importance. The Danish Investment Association and Finance Denmark generally prepare joint consultation responses, but in cases where the producer perspective is deemed essential, the Danish Investment Association may opt to render its own consultation responses. The interests of Danish investment funds and asset managers are also protected via the Danish Investment Association's membership of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA).
The Association was formed in 1984 under the name the Joint Committee of Danish Investment Companies. In 1997 it changed its name to the Danish Federation of Danish Investment Associations and in April 2014 to the Danish Investment Fund Association. In 2017 the Danish Investment Fund Association and Finance Denmark decided to join forces. For this purpose the Danish Investment Fund Association changed its name to its current, the Danish Investment Association.
