A strong financial sector is essential to a strong Denmark. The financial sector enables families to buy homes and businesses to invest and grow. It also helps society finance major transformations and respond to emerging security and defence needs. At the same time, the sector ensures that payments, savings and investments operate safely and efficiently every day. These functions form a vital part of Denmark’s critical infrastructure.
Finance Denmark brings the sector together around shared solutions and common interests. We work to create the best possible conditions for the financial sector to contribute to growth, development and security throughout society—without compromising financial stability. We draw on deep expertise, analysis and evidence to inform public debate, and we work closely with policymakers, public authorities, businesses and organisations to find solutions to some of Denmark’s greatest challenges. Our ambition is to be a strong and proactive voice and an active partner to society.
Our ambition is to strengthen financial robustness as a prerequisite for a stronger Denmark. We pursue this ambition through three parallel and interdependent pillars:
Financial security
We aim to strengthen financial security for individuals and businesses through greater financial literacy and inclusion, better housing for more people, and targeted efforts to combat financial crime and fraud. This provides a secure foundation for making informed financial decisions.
Financial agency
We aim to create better conditions for growth, investment and societal transformation through strong capital markets and increased investment, simpler rules and a level playing field, and an attractive and flexible labour market. This creates conditions that support growth and benefit customers and businesses alike, while safeguarding financial stability.
Financial resilience
We aim to contribute to a safer and more resilient Denmark by maintaining stable and efficient critical financial infrastructure, strengthening digital sovereignty, and improving preparedness in close cooperation with public authorities and other stakeholders across society. This supports better technological solutions, greater innovation and competitiveness, while reducing critical vulnerabilities.
